Winter Series 2024 - 2025

We have great pleasure in launching our new 2024/25 Winter Series. This is a complete refresh and replacement of our previous Winter League. The league had fantastic support in previous years, but we’ve recently seen a decline in numbers, so we’re looking forward to another winter of challenging golf for members and visitors alike, with a new and more inclusive spin on things.

For a full outline please see the Winter Series summary document (LINKED to the side or below), but here are the key points.

• We will be running two separate series - Thursday Winter Series & Weekend Winter Series.
• Anybody is welcome to take part, members, visitors or guests. To enter a Winter Series, simply play in one of the fixtures and you’ll be entered into the series.
• Players are welcome to play in both Series, however, the scoring / points will be completely separate.
• They will run from November 2024 – March 2025 with 10 Thursday fixtures and 14 Weekend fixtures in the diary.
• Tee Times will start from 8:50am with players required to play in the competition specific slots. Team Games will be drawn, however on Individual fixtures players can pick their own slots and playing partners.
• You will enter the Winter Series as an  Individual, not in a squad. It is an individual competition, however, there will be a split of individual and team games with a chance to play some qualifiers (course conditions depending), but also some fun team formats. More on this explained in the Summary document. 
• Players will be playing for “Winter Series Points” – Points available will depend on the number of entries for each fixture… 

Example: 25 Players enter an Individual Stableford = 1st Place 25pts, 2nd Place 24pts, 3rd Place 23pts, through to 25th Place 1pts.

Alternatively: 21 Players enter a 3 Player Team Game = 1st Place 21pts each, 2nd Place 18pts each, 3rd Place 15pts, through to 7th Place 3pts each.

• Every fixture will have an Entry Fee of £5.00 which includes a 2’s and Nearest Pin comp. A further but reduced Green Fee of £15.00 per round will be payable for visiting players.
• At the conclusion of the Winter Series, each players best 6 weeks will count towards the final standings. This we feel gives great flexibility with players unable to attend every fixture or if we have course closures etc.
• Each individual fixture / competition will of course have daily prizes including but not limited to Overall Winners, Best Front 9, Best Back 9, 2’s, Nearest the Pin.

The Winter Series presentation will be held at our Annual Awards Evening on 22nd March.
